How can I connect a wireless router to old computer?

I have a router downstairs, and an old desktop in my room. Can I get like an adapter or something to receive the LAN connection, and transmit it via ethernet to the old computer. Must be less than $60. Would it also work with the original xbox360? It would be nice to be able to use it for both (separately or simultaneously).
